The president of United States got a complete pass for fabricating girlfriends in his "autobiography."

If it's a bad thing for a college athlete to do that, isn't it a bad thing for the president, or jr. Senator-candidate-for-president to do it?

On the other hand, if Te'o is the "victim of a hoax", what does that make the American people?
