The Market Votes

Obama Wins! 2012 -5.28%

Yes, we know the world is falling apart faster than usual -- there is an undeclared war taking place in the Middle East as we write this -- but we didn't want this other fact fact to be lost in the news flurry:  the Dow has lost 5.28% since Obama was re-elected -- right on par with the loss it suffered the first time he was elected.

If Voters' Main Concern is The Economy, How Did He Win?

According to AP and CBS News:
Sixty percent of voters who cast ballots on Election Day or earlier say the economy is the most important issue in their vote, according to an early CBS News exit poll.
Wow, 60%. That's a big majority as elections go. So, how did the man who has presided over the worst economy since the Great Depression, whose policies have done nothing to alleviate record rates of persistent unemployment, who has brought the national debt to record levels while tax revenues have fallen -- how did this man "win" a second term as president?

It is all the more unbelievable in light of this obvious fact:
In CBS News/New York Times poll of likely voters taken shortly before the election, Mitt Romney had the edge over President Obama on the question of which candidate would do a better job handling the economy, 51 percent to 45 percent.
How did he "win"? It's clear that he couldn't have. This election was a fraud using the Chicago political machine template. You can take that to the bank.

Are you going to let them get away with it?

Markets React to Election Results

"Change" as depicted in a stock price chart:

Obama Wins! 2008
Dow Jones -5.05%

Obama Wins! 2012
Dow Jones -2.36%
(After the Stimulus, The Economic Plans,
All the "jobs added", and QE1, QE2, and QE3.)

The Black Cloud

Gee, how come all the people on the commute and in the office weren't positively giddy like they were four years ago today?

In fact, people seemed shellshocked, traumatized. Is it because nobody believed he would see the headline "Obama Wins" again? Is it because nobody with a lick of sense believes he could "win" an election? That's what our money's on.

Oh my, look at the stock market. Isn't there another post around here about it plunging the last time Obama was elected? Why, yes, there is. Welcome back to Wall Street, Mr. Hope and Change.

There's a silver lining: Hell is eternal, but we only have to endure another four years. Unless, of course, there's an investigation. Or some other great overstep, which the arrogant incompetent can be counted on to take.

First the Yankees, now this. What's next, The Black Plague?

In NY, Vote Anywhere (and everywhere?)

Keywords: "Bad Idea","Abetting Voter Fraud", "Every Official Act Of A Leftwing Pro-Abortion Governor Is Suspect On Election Day."

From BBC:
In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday he has signed an executive order allowing people displaced by Sandy to go to any "approximate polling place," sign an affidavit add cast their votes for president, U.S. Senate or other races that would have been on the ballot in their own precincts.

"We want everyone to vote," Cuomo said. "Just because you're displaced doesn't mean you should be disenfranchised."

The "D" word, just as we predicted, merely one post before this.

Let's say that the "community" is "organized" in such a way that enthusiastic or professional ballot-casters can do so in 10 precincts, instead of just one or two like they usually do. Under what circumstances, if any, would such fraud be discovered?

This is your country on socialized medicine.

Germany's Merck halts supply of cancer drug to Greek hospitals
8:03am EDT
FRANKFURT, Nov 3 (Reuters) - German pharmaceuticals firm Merck KGaA is no longer delivering cancer drug Erbitux to Greek hospitals, a spokesman said on Saturday, the latest sign of how an economic and budget crisis is hurting front line public services.
Drugmakers raised concerns with EU leaders earlier this yearover supplies to the euro zone's crisis-hit southern half and Germany's Biotest in June was the first to stop shipments to Greece because of unpaid bills.
Publicly-owned hospitals in some countries worst hit by theeuro zone debt crisis had been struggling to pay their bills, Merck's chief financial officer, Matthias Zachert, was quoted as saying by German paper Boersen-Zeitung in an interview on Saturday. He said however that the only country where Merck had stopped deliveries was Greece.
"It only affects Greece, where we have been faced with many problems. It's just the one product," he told the paper.
A spokesman for the company told Reuters that the drug concerned was Erbitux and that ordinary Greeks can still purchase it from pharmacies.
Some countries have taken action to pay bills, such as in Spain, where the government has said it will help hospitals topay off debts.
"That has improved things, even though the situation should still be regarded as critical for the coming years," Zachertsaid.
Erbitux is Merck's second best-selling prescription drug, bringing in sales of 855 million euros ($1.1 billion) in 2011from treating bowel cancer and head and neck cancer.($1 = 0.7785 euros) (Reporting by Frank Siebelt and Victoria Bryan; editing by Patrick Graham)

Key passages:
  • Publicly-owned hospitals in some countries worst hit by the euro zone debt crisis had been struggling to pay their bills
  • ordinary Greeks can still purchase it from pharmacies
  • Some countries have taken action to pay bills, such as in Spain, where the government has said it will help hospitals to pay off debts.
An "ordinary Greek" must be one who can afford to pay for his own medical care. All the other ones -- who can't purchase it -- must be the ones who rely upon the public health system. That is, they must rely on the government to deliver on the goodies it promised when it made itself THE market in medical services. But the government is broke.

Socialized medicine rations healthcare, and rationing always causes shortages. Then it becomes a matter of somebody escalating force in order to compel supply - otherwise known as coercion, and possibly theft. So, as long as the government can continue to bully suppliers or squeeze taxpayers, Granny might get her medicine.

You'd think people would learn. But even if they do, by the time that happens, an entirely new generation of idiots has come along to be manipulated by politicians.

How to "not waste a crisis"

Thank the foul-weather gods, team Obama: Sandy threw her "election wrench" all over the blue areas on the map! Are you already "organizing the community" to claim disenfranchisement because people couldn't get to the polling places? Have you already written the "recount" press releases?
